چکیده

This letter presents analysis of frozen sea surface properties using low cost and complexity terrestrial Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) receivers. Monitoring ice thickness the mean level (MSL) are performed interference frequency obtained by GNSS pattern (IP) technique. The height variations between antenna evaluated IP direct reflected carrier-to-noise density ratio (C/N0) is used to find corresponding MSL. GNSS-R derived MSL for open conditions agreed well with mareograph data root-mean-squared error (RMSE) 2.72 cm R-squared value 0.9644. For sea, a notable difference was observed measured ground truth values. caused combined snow above surface, also known as total freeboard. Sea level observations using multi-system GNSS reflectometry

Information on sea level and its changes are important in connection to global climate change processes. For centuries, sea level has been observed with coastal tide gauges and since some decades with satellite altimetry. Furthermore, during recent years the application of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reflectometry, also known as GNSS-R, for sea level observations has been develope...

The Impact of Inter-Modulation Components on Interferometric GNSS-Reflectometry

The interferometric Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (iGNSS-R) exploits the full spectrum of the transmitted GNSS signal to improve the ranging performance for sea surface height applications. The Inter-Modulation (IM) component of the GNSS signals is an additional component that keeps the power envelope of the composite signals constant. This extra component has been neglected ...

Sea state monitoring using coastal GNSS - R

We report on a coastal experiment to study GPS L1 reflections. The campaign was carried out at the Barcelona Port breaker and dedicated to the development of sea-state retrieval algorithms. An experimental system built for this purpose collected and processed GPS data to automatically generate a times series of the interferometric complex field (ICF). The ICF was analyzed off line and compared ...

Modeling sea ice thickness

In this paper, we present a self contained review on the modeling of sea ice thickness distribution. This is an important quantity arising and contributing to global climate changes. We present the various pde describing it, which are strongly non linear. Detailed mathematical analysis will be reported elsewhere. The utility of this quantity is of course to set up a global analysis of sea, ice ...

Sea-Ice Thickness Measurement:

Helicopter-borne electromagnetic (HEM) induction systems provide a means to measure sea ice thickness along flight paths covering a large area in a short period of time, and make the data available in real-time for incorporation into operational ice charts. Ice surface elevation profiles are also collected with a laser altimeter contained in the system. With the introduction of the fix-mounted ...
